Dance School

Dance School

The Dance School emerged from a simple idea of taking Divyangna’s passion for all things classical to greater heights by instilling the importance of cultural music and dance in the present day society, revisiting India’s rich cultural heritage in the process and tailoring it for modern day sensibilities.

With a perfectly streamlined focus towards all age groups, the dance school makes the classical dance form far more accessible to those who are intrigued by the magnificence, grace and the discipline of a classical training, adapting it to modern ways of choreography and performance in order to make the two disciplines coexist.

The course shall entail a training of Indian Classical Dance forms along with modern ways of performing them. The school is for everyone who’s interested in learning more about the Indian Classical Dance but in a modern day context. In addition to this, students would be encouraged to learn new choreographies around the time of every Indian festival, and will be encouraged to incorporate makeup, costume and record videos which would further be edited and uploaded on the website and various social media handles. This would give a sense of performing for an audience while still being under the pandemic until life resumes.

The Dance school shall operate both online and offline once the world opens up again, but until then it shall exist on Zoom with perfectly curated weekly classes and the quality of the training shall not be compromised since individual attention will be given to every student through interactive sessions, and small numbered batches. After an orientation, the batches will be divided on the basis of age, experience and other related factors. In no time, the dance school shall become family.

Classes for Kids

Divyangna’s major in psychology serves as a tool while engaging with the performance arts. The training for the kids will focus on their holistic development, theory and knowledge of the dance form, fundamentals of dance and choreography with an aim to focus on the four C’s – Communication, Collaboration, Creative Thinking and Critical Thinking. She wishes for the kids to not only learn a new form of dance, but also to make it a way of life, and for it to reflect in all of their personality traits thereafter.
